How Our Story Began - J&S Contractors
In 1968 Jerry Fitzgerald and John “Slim” Norman were close friends doing rock lath and metal lath insulation when they decided to go into business for themselves. Over the years drywall became a residential and commercial product phasing out interior rock lath.
In the early 1970’s, they started residential framing and drywall and later started commercial exterior framing and stucco. One of their first projects was Open Door Estates, consisting of seven residential retirement homes and Bible Town in Boca Raton, consisting of interior and exterior framing, interior drywall, and exterior lath and stucco.
When Slim passed away in the 1980’s, Jerry became a Certified General Contractor and continued with the business as owner and CEO, focusing on the commercial sector and employing the same dedicated personnel for the past 30 years.
Some of our more recent projects include the Norton Museum of Art, Hollywood Parking Garage, Hampton Inn, Publix, Sunrise City Hall, Las Olas Marina, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Gunther VW, Lexus, and Mercedes Benz.
